So you’ve done your research and you’ve decided that CBD might be able to help with whatever is bothering youbut there’s one question on your mind..
How long is it going to take for the CBD to work its magic?
That’s a great question and one that is pretty difficult to find a straight answer to.
But I’ll try my best to give you a good idea of how long it’s going to take.
How Long Does It Take For CBD To Take Effect?
CBD has a half life of around 1-2 days.
This means that for the first half it is working in your body and for the second half it is exiting your body.
So CBD will be in and out of your body within 2 days, for some people with faster metabolisms it’ll be out in 1 day.
This means you need to take it regularly to keep the benefits.
How fast it works also depends on the person. For example a small child may feel the effects faster than a large man because the large man will need more and I recommend starting off small as I’ll explain in a bit..
What Are You Using CBD For?
If you’re using CBD for physical pain then you may notice results within minutes.
But if you’re using CBD to treat depression then it may take a few days to weeks to truly feel the effects although there are lots of reports of people using CBD for their anxiety and getting instant results.
In my experience CBD works fast but for some people it can take up to a couple of weeks to become a believer.
How Are You Consuming The CBD?
There are lots of different ways to consume CBD these days and they all work pretty fast but some are absorbed faster than others.
Here’s the top 5 types of CBD products ranked by how fast they get to work:
- Vaping (Gets absorbed super fast through the lungs.)
- CBD oil (Under the tongue works fast. Can be slow if you mix the oil with food as it needs to be digested.)
- Gummies (Often contain sugar so your body digests them quickly.)
- CBD Cream (Rub it in for localized relief.)
- Pills (Slowest because they need to be digested.)
How Much CBD Are You Taking?
Obviously the more you use the faster you will feel the effects but don’t start gobbling all your CBD down just yet.
I recommend starting small:
- Start off at 20mg per day for 3-5 days.
- Then increase your dose by 5mg every 3 days until you get the desired results.
- Keep a CBD diary. Write down how much you took and how you felt that day.
By doing this you will find the perfect CBD dose for you.
In general CBD works fast and can provide magical results so I hope this article helped give a bit more insight into how long it takes for CBD to kick in.
